Coinbase has acquired the Routefire trading platform

U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase acquired trading platform Routefire.

According to a Jan. 7 press release, Routefire will discontinue its services and join Coinbase to continue developing services for trading digital assets.

Routefire was founded in 2017. The company develops technology that helps institutional clients execute large orders in the cryptocurrency market. Routefire’s services will expand Coinbase’s brokerage business.

After acquiring the Tagomi platform last year, Coinbase helped invest in bitcoin supersplit with companies such as MicroStrategy and One River Digital.

According to The Block, Blockchain Capital, Hustle Fund and FJ Labs previously invested in Routefire. To date, Coinbase has acquired more than 20 startups.
